A new way to design
As artists, we want to spend as much time as possible on the creative side, but are often bogged down by technical and tedious tasks: Creating mockups, adjusting listings, uploading and downloading images. FusionCanvas aims to eliminate the boring stuff so you can focus on the fun part
The core features of FusionCanvas will be free, open source, and available across platforms — empowering creators with privacy-first design, secure architecture, extensibility, and a foundation built on best practices.
Plugins - free or paid - will be available to support workflows not in the core feature set.
Free - built in public
The basic idea
It all started with a Google Sheet I used to keep track of my designs.
At first, it was simple — just a phrase, a description, and a link to the design file. But over time, I added colors, statuses, pricing, tags, and much more. It gradually became my master database: a place to capture ideas and track them as they evolved into finished listings.
Then I noticed I was spending a lot of time creating mockups for different color variations of the same design. I thought, maybe I could automate this — so I did.
Using a template, I was suddenly able to generate mockup images for every color variation of a design automatically. It saved me a huge amount of time.
Over time, this grew from a simple tool into a complete design philosophy built around workflow support. Some parts already exist as working features, some are sketches in my documents, and some are still just ideas in my head. FusionCanvas is my vision for bringing all of that together into a single app.
As a software developer with more than 25 years of experience, I want to build this app on solid engineering principles, with privacy at its core. That’s why FusionCanvas will be a desktop app for both Windows and Mac — free to use, with your designs staying on your computer and never leaving your machine.
